Q&A

Q1.

I only have a moped license, can I still drive?

I'm sorry, but this is not possible. COMS is a Class 1 motorized bicycle under the Road Transport Vehicle Act, but it is a minicar (ordinary car) under the Road Traffic Act. According to the Road Traffic Act, a regular driver's license is required (AT limited). Therefore, please drive on the road (you cannot drive on the sidewalk). Also, although not on Miyakojima, you cannot drive on expressways or expressways. (For a Class 1 motorized vehicle under the Road Transport Vehicle Act) An international driver's license valid in Japan is required.

Q2.

How should I charge the battery?

It can be charged using a standard household 100V outlet. So-called BEV charging stations cannot be used. Each car is equipped with an extension cable for charging. Please use it to charge from a 100V household outlet. You can also charge it when you come to SEACOM.

Q3.

Do you need a helmet?

This is not necessary as it is a regular car. However, if you are concerned about riding in an open type vehicle, we can also lend you a helmet for free. Please feel free to let us know.

Q4.

Isn't driving difficult?

Due to its unique operational feel, we ask that you take a lecture when renting for the first time.

If you can drive a passenger car, you can ride without problems.

*We reserve the right to refuse rental if we deem it dangerous.
